The Bell of Entropy is the one of the earliest and most popular works on the Chaos Insurgency Wiki. It is described as being equivalent to a weapon of mass destruction, an instrument of last resort the Insurgency can use if they are under serious existential threat.
It was posted on 19 March 2014 by DrCaedecus, one of the founders of the Chaos Insurgency Wiki. It is the first article using the Chaos Insurgency confic format, preceding the next example by a little under two minutes.
It set the standard of the Chaos Insurgency being similar but distinct to the SCP Foundation standards they were spinning themselves off from. It showed that their perspective would be that of using objects to further the Insurgency’s objectives, not just in the name of containing something to protect humanity.
The Bell of Entropy is the most popular article on the Chaos Insurgency Wiki as of January 2022, it is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future.
