[Following his accounting of events in the Backrooms Oral History]upon which point knaff joined liminal archives
we worked on our new wiki, with LPP designing a custom theme for it and banach coming up with the new name, liminal archives, to replace neo-backrooms
mfras booted us all from his server into the new server LPP had made as part of his withdrawing from the entire affair
in this new official liminal archives server we set up, with myself, avert, banach, and Lcy from the ferrante server quickly being given mod perms by LPP to manage the flood of users
we worked on defining ourselves and created the concepts of thresholds and limspaces (ruther prides himself on inventing thresholds)
ferrante was unbanned by TS for a short time – until he rather harshly criticized one of the junior staff from SCP, etoisle, in a reddit comment and was banned again
either before or after that evfist stepped down from owner of TS, giving it to the SCP usurper etoisle
the initial surge of activity created by ferrante died down, and liminal went dead
a new user joined TS, saw how bad things were, heard about the racist splinter, and left to join us – dark destroyer
knaff left for a while and then rejoined with renewed enthusiasm to write, which triggered banach and others to put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard I suppose) and actually write rather than just griping
and liminal archives came back from the dead
ferrante began making videos on our levels, the ones on the wiki, not the old mfras drive pages
this created a second wave of new members to supplement our old writers
the early server was very anarchic, like a bunch of children suddenly free of their parents’ supervision
I was more or less the voice of leniency in moderation, while avert argued for harshness
this conflict in the mod team built up, with a user named pie guy who joined and generally annoyed people (but didn’t break any rules) who I defended when he was banned for a joke in poor taste mistaken for a legitimate death threat, and lost favor in the other mods eyes resulting in a conspiracy against me in another server
rutherford ratted the conspirators out to LPP, who brought the whole things out into the open
the result was that I was demoted from admin to mod, and things mostly calmed down
surprisingly, along with things calming between the mods things calmed down with the users themselves, as like children free from supervision they eventually wore themselves out bouncing on the bed and adjusted to the laxer environment
and liminal archives matured from anarchy hellhole to writing server
ferrante exhausted his supply of levels to read as he was covering them faster than we could make them, and took a break from covering our wiki to do other things
okay, so the rutherford incidents, plural
rutherford was a janny somehow
don’t ask me how he got the position
he didn’t use it well
he would frequently joke mute members and didn’t really do any moderating
he would also get drunk regularly and talk about inappropriate things in general chat, like when he got drunk with a girl and asked LA what to do since he didn’t have condoms and ended up giving us the story of their entire night together as it happened
(both were 14)
he also got in VC and as a joke decided to pretend to insert a toothpick into his genitalia under the advice of wanderer (also a janny somehow)
that larp was quite elaborate, with him faking moans of pain and using a soundboard to fake an ambulance arriving
he even claimed weeks later to have contracted a urinary tract infection
then somehow, he got mod (which I was against, having seen toothdick)
he then used his mod powers to test ban commands – and banned avert, a fellow mod by accident as he had a special role that was technically above mod so the bot thought he was a higher rank
that got him demoted from mod – to janny
then came another incident
a user named twhalliii claimed he would send ruther dick pics – and ruther told him to go ahead
according to twhai ruther was pressuring him, but according to ruther he just called his bluff
either way, twhai, a minor, sent ruther a picture of a penis he got off of google images and claimed it was his
this resulted in banach pinging everyone with a vote to hold an impeachment trial for ruther
after a discussion with banach I was able to talk him down from a full trial and we just banned him without needing to get the whole server involved – although they’d already seen a list of his crimes in banach’s announcement
oops
then came the ruther alts
only two were confirmed but more were suspected
one was voldemort, a well-created persona of a middle-aged man from england who was much nicer than ruther, proving he could follow the rules if he tried

each time he was caught alting his ban was extended, and his one-month ban turned into several
eventually he got unbanned, and came back to lewd a picture of etoisle, the head admin of TS
you know

although to be fair to ruther avert also lewded the image
this lay dormant in our server for months until just recently a member screencapped it and DM’d it to etoisle, causing liminal archives to become known as a server of sexual harassers
but that’s skipping ahead
so the natedagreat thing
there’s this tik toker who covers TS stuff
and he has a server
and a few months ago his server got raided
not just raided, raided, with like 800 accounts by paid russian trolls
(as of now his server is 120, it was likely smaller then so the raiders would have outnumbered members about eight-to-one)
they spammed messages, including some using the name ferrante, like “ferrante eats jew [N-word]s”
1000dumplings, the moderator from TS if you remember earlier, was in nate’s server and gave him a list of people to blame – several liminal archives members and ferrante
this caused nate to ban ferrante and blame us for the raid, of course
we never did find out who paid for the raid but some suspect it may have been 1kD, although prophet that would have been too clever for 1kD
1kD joined liminal archives twice
once at the very beginning to spam ping mfras hundreds of times and was quickly banned
aether as I mentioned earlier had also joined liminal at the beginning, first to troll, then to write after finally being convinced we weren’t bigoted
of course the entry he wrote was “the zoomaster”, an obvious ripoff of the gamemaster
we told him not to make cheap copies which he did not respond well to
after claiming “nothing is original” and “your levels are ripoffs too” he left in a huff
the worst part of the hole 3 server was that vince invited prophet and eternally (so he could accuse the hole 3 guys of conspiring with the banned trolls)
oh wait
I remembered a funny one
I was searching for “the domed desert”, mfras’ old level, and found a mention of it in a surprising place – a TS article
a TS author had seen the ferrante video, and not realizing it was from our wiki, not theirs, included it as an exit to their level
when we informed TS staff they refused to remove the mention – even though we couldn’t use their stuff, apparently they could use ours
that was back in the neo backrooms days
yeah there was the “peace treaty”
I wasn’t there so you might want to get banach to tell this one
liminal archives got a russian branch that only has a few members
ferru from TS used to be in LA before hidan (troll, retard) asked upon finding out she was female if she’d “ever been stung by a bee on the clit”
ferru left and became highly anti-LA
ferraru is also staff in TS
russian too
apparently the TS russian branch has been having trouble with spammers and trolls and they blamed us
shut down all mention of LA on their server
okay so I guess I should cover the natedagreat “””raid”””
this was several months after the actual raid by unknown parties
I found his discord server and joined to have a look around
I lurked and dug up posts mentioning liminal archives and ferrante – even one claiming ferrante should be “deleted from existence”
naturally I screencapped these and posted to liminal
wanderer asked for the invite, and naively, I gave it to him in general chat
now I’d given him the public invite from nate’s tik tok, not an invite I made myself so it wouldn’t show as me inviting him (important detail later)
I assumed he just wanted to look for himself and lurk like I was lurking
and I didn’t count on other LA members all pouring in after him
so of course someone decided to start talking in the server
and then a whole swarm of liminites all started talking and asking questions and his relatively dead server suddenly became very active
nate said we could stay at first and we had polite talk with members of his server
blue zeus joins and of course invites pie guy because blue is obsessed with pie for some reason
I warned nate right away to ban pie and he did, and then blue too
then I told pie that blue was gay for him because I’d previously told blue if he invited pie back one more time I’d do that
but then apparently it was knaff of all people joining that caused him to panic and post about how LA was in his server in TS and he was scared because of the things he’d heard about knaff
so etoisle joins nate’s server and gets promoted to admin in minutes – even though the other admins had the qualifications of being his IRL friends and people who’d helped make the server or were experienced with making server
but etoisle gets admin anyways in no time flat
and we start getting banned one by one
kak called himself a “former retard” in his intro, it gets deleted and he’s told not to do it again – and then banned several minutes later
we talk for a while but etoisle is extremely standoffish
everything is taken the wrong way
saying “sus” is taken as an accusation
etoisle joked about taking over the world and wanderer joked about stopping that with an RPG and etoisle immediately took that wrong
etoisle told us to “just be normal” so I re-introduced myself like I was starting over
used “heyoo” as my greeting, of course
when asked why we were being banned etoisle only said nate wanted us gone despite him saying we could stay earlier
I tried making what I thought was a funny pun and it accidentally came out sounding like a pickup line
to etoisle
had to have “accidentally flirted with etoisle” as my status for a while after that
and I got banned for I still don’t know what and couldn’t see the rest
anyways all messages by us in the server except your are deleted now
most likely automatic when we were banned
my archive and our screenshots are now the only record of what actually went down in there
oh I forgot some of it

to stop us from joining he had to shut down all invites since the link I had posted in our server was the public invite so he couldn’t just disable making new ones
and as far as I know it’s still shut down
after all this time
no one can join his server now

got turned down because they found some old jokes about jews I made
managed to get them to add my requirement about submissions to the indu canon having to find new uses for anomalies instead of creating anomalies as a suggestion on the canon page, couldn’t get them to add it as a solid rule because it would be “impossible to enforce”
